some look at descending planetary nodes like Jeff Greene.Strong aspects, especially tight conjunctions, oppositions, and squares, of one partner's planets and/or angles to the Descending Nodes of the other's personal planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars) are significant indicators of soul mate connection and likely involvement in previous lifetimes. The actual pre-incarnate contact between the two parties strengthens the experience of soulfulness in the relationship exactly because the source of that contact lies outside one's current bodily perimeters. This works in much the same way that meeting an old and close high school friend after an absence of some twenty or thirty years evokes not only the feelings and memories associated with those years together but also an enhanced sense of life's meaning in general through comparison of where we were then and where we are now. These contacts put us in touch with a deeper dimension of life than we could experience within either of those points in time by themselves. My descend Mars node oppose her Venus - '29

some look at conjunctions and oppositions within 2 degrees like Demetra George and Douglas Bloch.
according to them, in order to be connected to someone, you must have one of your planets or angles in the same or opposite degree as one of their planets or angles. From an energy perspective, the reasoning behind the theory is that each of the 360 degrees of the Zodiac vibrates to a particular frequency. Because of the law of magnetism, you will be attracted to those individuals who have planets(denoting parts of personality) that resonate to the same frequencies as your own. Because each pair of opposite degrees signifies the two poles of the same energy line, either degree will work.
These contact points are the glue or bonding that holds the relationship together. The more of these contact points that you share, the more connected you are. The planets involved will also indicate the nature of your relationship. Moon or Ceres contacts signify emotional, nurturing,or parental interactions;Juno,Venus, and Mars point to sexual or mating relationships;Saturn can indicate parental or authority figures involved in relationships, etc.
Once a connection has been clearly established, the ensuing relationship will be flowing or stressful, depending on the nature of the planets involved. If the connected planets have a natural affinity(e.g. Venus and the Moon),the interaction will be easier than if a more volatile planetary connection is established(e.g. the fiery Mars and the changeable Uranus).
For those who consider the reincarnation model, it is further suggested that these connections represent karmic contact points. The planets involved indicate what kinds of relationships you had in previous lives, whose karma,or unresolved issues, are now being further enacted in this current life. For example, Moon or Ceres contacts indicate a parent-child interaction. In the current life, you may be involved in a husband-wife relationship, but if there a strong Moon-Ceres connection, it will be the nurturing, dependency, and parental themes that will become major issues.
Other connections may signify the following: Juno contacts may portray previous marriage partners or mates. Venus and Mars contacts indicate prior sexual connections. Jupiter and Mercury contacts could show prior teacher-student interactions. Moreover, advanced astrological research suggests that sign contacts can point to the historical time period or geographical location in which a relationship took place.
That's from the book,ASTROLOGY FOR YOURSELF by Demetra George and Douglas Bloch
I would include parallel and contraparallel....they are like conjunctions and oppositions...the sky has more coordinates than just ecliptic longitude. Without declinations,we would not have seasons nor eclipses. I would use 15 minutes of arc for tight connections involving declinations
My Ascendant oppose her Ascendant - '16 same as Asc conjunct each other's Desc
My Asc contraparallels her Asc - '06 same as Asc pararallel each other's Desc
My Sun conjunct her Chiron - 1'18
Her Ceres oppose my Ceres - 1'56
Her Ceres conjunct my North Node - 1'32 - same as her Ceres oppose my South Node
Her Ceres parallel my IC - '11 - same as Ceres contraparallel my MC
Her Stationary Jupiter conjunct my IC - '16 - same as her Jupiter oppose my MC
Her Mercury oppose my Uranus - 1'51
Her Stationary Neptune parallels my IC - '04 - same as her Neptune contraparallel MC
Her Vesta oppose my Uranus - 1'56
Vedic Astrologers look at charts very differently. They don't see South Node as past life stuff. To them,South Node is Ketu which is significator of Moksha, liberation, enlightenment, but also loss, suffering. The cosmobiologists and uranian astrologers don't look at south node as pastlife either. The nodes are just seen as connections, meetings, and relationships.
They use D-60 Shastiamsa varga chart as karma Karma arising from own past life
It would make sense to compare D-60 chart to the other's D-60 chart to check for pastlife connections. Vedic Astrologers use aspects by sign and not by orb just like Ptolemy did. In Vedic Astrology aspects go like this: All planets aspect 7th house from themselves, Mars aspects also the 4th and 8th houses from itself, Jupiter aspects also the 5th and 9th house from itself, and Saturn aspects the 3rd and 10th houses from itself. So you wouldn't see Saturn trines,Jupiter squares nor sexiles, nor Mars trines/sextiles
I only checked conjunctions,oppositions within 5 degrees
also traditional Jupiter aspects, traditional Mars aspects, and traditional Saturn aspects
with 5 degree orb.
